The torch collection and 100-day countdown ceremony for the 10th Sports Meet of Shaoxing were held in Shengzhou county-level city in Shaoxing on July 13.

The torch collection ceremony was divided into three parts: on-site torch collection, torch relay handover, and fire sealing.

Ten messengers wearing long white skirts and flower crowns slowly entered the torch collection area and ignited the Shaoxing Sports Meet torch using a solar energy concentrator.

The Shaoxing Sports Meet is held once every four years and is the most prestigious and largest multi-sport event in Shaoxing.

This year, fitness programs popular among the masses, particularly young people, were included in the competition. E-sports have been included as a public competition for the first time.

The tournament is divided into two categories: the youth division and the public division. The youth division includes 29 major events and 900 minor events such as track and field, swimming, basketball, and volleyball, and will produce 1,188 gold medals.

The public division includes 17 major events and 55 minor events such as swimming, 3x3 basketball, men’s 5x5 soccer, and Chinese chess, and will produce 69 gold medals.
