The third Industry Talent Innovation Development Forum and the 2023 China Shaoxing "Land of the Wise" Industry-Talent Integration Development Conference was held in Shaoxing, Zhejiang province on Nov 17.

Over 500 representatives from government departments, research institutions and leading enterprises gathered to discuss and collaborate on the deep integration of innovation chains, industry chains, fund chains and talent chains.

The event, themed "Empowering Industry with Talent, Winning the Future through Innovation," witnessed the release of the 2023 forecasts for talent demand in key areas of industry and information technology. Additionally, key projects focusing on the integration of industry and talent were signed during the conference.

On the same day, Shaoxing also initiated the "Overseas Talent Visiting Study and Work Window" action and appointed eight experts from higher education institutions, renowned think tanks and innovation centers to recommend young talents for Shaoxing.

Young talents under the age of 40 recommended by these experts are directly recognized as leading talents at the municipal level in Shaoxing and are entitled to relevant policy support.

In recent years, Shaoxing has strategically established multiple talent platforms such as the Zhejiang Shaoxing Talent Entrepreneurship. The city has collaborated with 35 universities, including Zhejiang University, to build research institutes.

Data indicates that Shaoxing has consistently ranked among the top in the country for attracting overseas talent, with over 1,000 leading talents at or above the provincial level gathered. In the past year alone, Shaoxing has introduced over 1,000 new doctoral candidates, marking a 300 percent year-on-year increase. These talents span various key industries, including advanced equipment manufacturing, biopharmaceuticals and new materials.
