International television and film producers are seeking coproduction partners at the 2nd MIP China, which runs from June 6 to 7 in Hangzhou, the capital of East China's Zhejiang province.
MIPCOM (Marché International des Programmes de Communication), is an annual trade show that brings together international and Chinese companies to develop new programming across all genres.
Designed as a direct and easy way to find the right co-production partners, the two-day event is divided into two sections: a partnership forum and a one-to-one matchmaking meeting.
Leading national and international production companies from the United Kingdom, the United States, Thailand and India, including US entertainment company Warner Bros and three-time Emmy Award-winning animation company Base FX, were invited to explore content development in entertainment sectors.
Meanwhile, a training conference focusing on the development of the international film and television industries, is also being held during this year's event.
"I'll give nine out of 10 stars for last year's MIP event in Hangzhou, a city with a vibrant film and television climate," said Laurine Garaude, director of the television division in Reed MIDEM, adding that this year they want to see more cooperation between Chinese and international production companies.
The first edition of MIP China was held in 2017 in Hangzhou with 300 deals worth 480 million yuan ($75.1 million) being signed.
