A 22-member delegation from Malaysia visited Shengzhou in East China's Zhejiang province on May 21, in return for the Shengzhou snack international exchange activity held in Malaysia last November.
Headed by Datuk Frankie Liew, president of the Sabah branch of the Malaysia-China Chamber of Commerce (MCCC), the visit is aimed at deepening cooperation between Shengzhou and Sabah in the areas of ecological agriculture, tourism, manufacturing, cultural and innovative industries, and snacks and local specialties.
The delegation also visited local Shengzhou enterprises in order to encourage them to invest in Sabah's agricultural and tourism industries.
The Malaysia Sabah China Chamber of Commerce Friendship Department (SZ China) was unveiled during the visit as well.
As the first overseas liaison workstation of Sabah branch of MCCC, the institute is designed to serve the Belt and Road Initiative by promoting economic and trade ties, personnel exchanges and communications, and integrating competitive industries in Shengzhou and Sabah.
