Nine art troupes from Zhejiang province will perform in 18 cities in 13 countries throughout January and February to celebrate China's Spring Festival and promote traditional Chinese culture.

Their performances are part of the Happy Spring Festival cultural exchange activity hosted by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, cultural organizations across the country, and overseas Chinese agencies. The activity is designed to promote China's Spring Festival overseas.

Zhejiang has been participating in the activity since 2009 in order to promote its local culture and tourism attractions. In 2019, it arranged for 12 art troupes to give 61 song and dance performances in 23 cities in nine countries and regions, including Chile, the United States, Russia, Italy, and the United Arab Emirates. It held a number of exhibitions as well.

This year, Zhejiang will focus on countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative, holding shows in Morocco, Saudi Arabia, and Italy.

In addition to performances, Zhejiang will also hold meetings to promote its tourism attractions and several interactive activities for foreigners to learn about Chinese culture.
