Zhejiang's Party chief urges Hangzhou to become world first class city

"Hangzhou should hold a global perspective and strive to become a world first class city as soon as possible," said Che Jun, Party chief of Zhejiang province, at a meeting with Hangzhou deputies on Jan 12 to review the government's report to the third session of the 13th Zhejiang Provincial People's Congress.
Che recognized the achievements that Hangzhou has made over the past year and raised specific requirements for the city to enhance its overall economic competitiveness in the future.
Che said that Hangzhou should promote industrial innovation and advanced manufacturing, improve its business climate, coordinate the development of different regions, strengthen cooperation with neighboring cities, and protect its major historical sites to boost its cultural and tourism industries.
The third session of the 13th Zhejiang Provincial People's Congress opened on Jan 12 and lasts until Jan 16.
