The "Virtuous Quzhou" cruise ship sailed along the Qiantangjiang River from Hangzhou, capital of Zhejiang province, to Quzhou on May 16, according to local media.

The event was meant to introduce cruise ships as a new form of recreation in Quzhou. It was organized by the Quzhou Municipal Committee of the CPC and the Quzhou Municipal Government.

The cruise ship passed by a variety of famous scenic spots, including Tongjun Mountain in Tonglu county, ancient Yanzhou city in Hangzhou, the Longyou Grottoes, Xin'an Lake, and Shuitingmen in Quzhou.

The route of the cruise is often known as "Peotry Road", as more than 1,000 poets have created over 10,000 poems along the river since the Tang Dynasty (618-907).

Many famous paintings, including Dwelling in the Fuchun Mountains and Tide Watching on Qiantangjiang River, were based on scenery along the Qiantangjiang River.
