The 2020 National Convention to Encourage Hong Kong and Macao Youth Groups to Travel to the Chinese Mainland was held in the city of Ningbo in East China's Zhejiang province on Oct 26.
Among the organizers of this year's event are the Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan Affairs Office at the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism.
Among the participants were government officials and businesspeople from throughout the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong, and Macao who are involved in facilitating and organizing Hong Kong and Macao youth trips to the Chinese mainland.
The convention announced 15 recommended travel routes for young travellers from Hong Kong and Macao. One of the routes includes places of cultural and historic interest in Ningbo, such as Tianyi Pavilion, Nantang Ancient Street, Chiang Kai-shek's former residence, and Ningbo University.
Officials at the Ningbo Municipal Administration of Culture, Radio, Television, and Tourism also gave presentations on four of the city's cultural tourism routes, which are themed around Buddhism, celadon, tea, and sailing, respectively.
