Some 20 ethnic minority residents in Xianju county – administered by Taizhou city in  East China's Zhejiang province -- were invited by local authorities to a party on Feb 7, in celebration of the upcoming Lunar New Year which falls on Feb 12 this year, according to local media reports.

Those attending were from the Yi, Dong, Miao, Zhuang, Tujia and some other ethnicities. The hometowns for many are far away from Zhejiang, but for various reasons they decided to spend the Spring Festival holiday in Xianju.
