An image of a unique castle-like homestay complex called Rose Castle – located in Yunhe county in Lishui city, in East China's Zhejiang province – was recently promoted on the giant Nasdaq screen in New York's Times Square.

Rose Castle is a romantic pink castle, situated on an island in Xiangong Lake in Yunhe. The three-story building has 36 rooms, each with a private balcony facing the lake.

Tian Jinghai, the designer and investor behind Rose Castle, is a class I registered architect in China. Rose Castle is not the first homestay he has built in Yunhe.

"The first time I visited Yunhe, I was deeply attracted by the scenery of the terraced fields," Tian said. It inspired him to open his first homestay Zaitianjian in Kenggen village, in Chongtou town in Yunhe, in 2016.

"This time I hope I have created a landmark that can represent the county and contribute to local economic development," he added

The exterior of Rose Castle, which looks like a giant set of play building blocks, showcases the characteristic of the local wooden toy industry, according to Tian.
