Hangzhou's GDP up 12.7% in H1

The GDP of Hangzhou, capital city of East China's Zhejiang province, increased 12.7 percent year-on-year to 864.6 billion yuan ($132.94 billion) in the first half of the year, according to the local statistics bureau.

The city's average annual GDP growth rate for the past two years reached 7 percent.

The added value of digital economy's core industries in Hangzhou reached 230.6 billion yuan during the same period, a year-on-year increase of 16.7 percent. The average annual growth rate of these industries over the past two years reached 13.6 percent.

Among them, robots, integrated circuits, and artificial intelligence boasted significant increases of 38.2 percent, 25.2 percent, as well as 23.4 percent respectively.

In the first six months of this year, the added value of the city's major industrial sectors increased by 14.5 percent year-on-year to 188.8 billion yuan. The average annual growth rate of these sectors over the past two years reached 7.1 percent.

The total volume of social consumer retail sales in Hangzhou totaled 325.9 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 17.4 percent, while the added value of the city's service industry amounted to 604.9 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 13 percent, from January to June of this year.
