Zhejiang pins high hopes on culture, tourism industries
The Zhejiang Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism recently published a five-year action plan (2021-25) on the development of its culture and tourism sectors that contribute to the province's common prosperity drive.
According to the document, Zhejiang aims to become "the best tourist destination in China" by 2025.
By then, the added value of the province's culture-related industries should make up at least eight percent of its GDP.
Zhejiang should be home to more than 20 first-tier general aviation airports, and an average Zhejiang resident should make at least six trips per year.
In addition, the coverage rate of high-speed railway for the province's 5A-grade tourism attractions is expected to reach 95 percent.
The province's rural regions should be home to 22,000 homestay hotels, with their total operating revenue rising by more than 50 percent.
