During the National Day holiday from Oct 1 to 7, hordes of people flocked to Hanshan Lake after the area was featured in the recent Chinese blockbuster movie The Battle at Lake Changjin.

The Chinese war epic made its debut on Sept 30 and has so far raked in over 4 billion yuan ($621.2 million) in box office revenue. The film features the Battle at Lake Changjin which took place during the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea (1950-53).

Located in Tiantai county, Zhejiang province, Hanshan Lake has 37 harbors and nine islets. The lake has a surface area of 9,600 mu (6.4 square kilometers).
