Zhejiang launches conscription campaign in second half of 2022

Authorities in East China's Zhejiang province launched a conscription campaign in the second half of 2022. All regions in Zhejiang have taken epidemic prevention measures and organized on-site physical examinations.

The recruitment age for postgraduate students and graduates has been relaxed to 26 years for the first time in 2022. The conscription campaign in 2022 also continued to focus on college students as the primary source of enlistment and gave priority to approving science and engineering college students as well as those with skills needed to prepare for war, in an effort to enhance the overall quality of new recruits.

Zhao Yanzhe from Lishui, is a fresh graduate of Wenzhou Business College whose grandfather and father were both soldiers. He grew up listening to military stories. "I hope that I can be drafted into the army this time, and help to protect my family and country," he said.

The number of applicants in Zhejiang province in the second half of the year has reached 110,000, including 51,000 college students and 27,000 college graduates.
