At the eastern gate of the Baisanzu National Park – located in Lishui city in East China's Zhejiang province – lies Yingchuan, a thousand-year-old town of the Southern Song Dynasty (1127-1279).

If you are tired of big-city noises, Yingchuan town should be your priority, so you can savor the enchanting comforts of small-town life.

If you want to taste gastronomic delicacies, Yingchuan vermicelli, shiitake mushrooms, escargots, red heart plums and mochi rice buns can be bought anywhere in town. If the local food festival is on, you will even encounter the Yingchuan vermicelli cooking skills competition, food exhibitions, the She village snack street and intangible culture heritage exhibitions.

For over 1,000 years, generations of Yingchuan people have cultivated the land with intelligence and diligence, recounted the legends and tales of Yintan Stone and Carp Head, nurtured intellects like Liu Guanghua and Wu Jiugao and left behind numerous cultural heritage.

In 2021, Yingchuan town was given the officially status of being a Strong Cultural Town and the hometown of Zhejiang opera.

Countless literati have sung about Yingchuan during the last millennium, so why not visit Yingchuan to see what all the fuss is about?
