Shen Ding'an, a famous calligrapher and artist born in Shaoxing, East China's Zhejiang province, died in Shaoxing on Jan 25 at the age of 96.

On Jan 28, a farewell ceremony was hosted in his memory.

Shen was once the chairman of the Shaoxing Calligraphers Association and a member of the council of the Chinese Calligraphers Association. In 2021, he was granted the title "calligrapher for life-long achievement" by the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles.
