A Thailand-bound tour group set out from Ningbo, Zhejiang province on Feb 10. It was the city's first outbound tour group since China resumed outbound group travel services after being suspended for the past three years.

The group consists of 30 tourists from cities such as Ningbo, Taizhou, Shaoxing and Wenzhou. At around 9:30 am on Feb 10, they took a direct flight to Bangkok and started their six-day trip in Bangkok and Pattaya.

The resumption of outbound group tours excited both tourism workers and tourists.

"I've been unemployed for three years and I'm overjoyed to work again," said Xiaoxi, guide of the tour group.

The eldest member of the group is a tourist surnamed Shi from Fujian province. For him, it was a special trip.

"I haven't seen my brother for more than a year. The trip to me is like a family reunion," said Shi.

According to flight operator Spring Airlines, the 185-seat flight, the first direct flight from Ningbo to Thailand that the company resumed, was fully booked.

"In addition to this tour group, more outbound group travel products to places such as Phuket Island in Thailand, Phnom Penh in Cambodia, and Singapore, will be launched," said Yang Shipei, general manager of the Zhejiang Chunqiu International Travel Agency.
