Ningbo maintains appealing among talent

Ningbo in East China's Zhejiang province was ranked 14th among Chinese cities in terms of attractiveness to talent in 2022, according to a recent report.

The report, released by Zhaopin.com and Ren Zeping, an online influencer and former chief economist of property giant Evergrande, analyzed data from over 321 million workers and their job hunting trends in 2022.

Beijing has remained the most attractive destination for talent for three consecutive years, followed by Shanghai, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Hangzhou, Nanjing, Chengdu, Suzhou, Wuhan, and Wuxi.

Notably, all 11 cities in Zhejiang made the 2022 list of top 100 cities most attractive to talent. In addition to Hangzhou and Ningbo, Jiaxing came in at 21st place, followed by Shaoxing (23rd), Wenzhou (26th), Jinhua (27th), Huzhou (29th), Taizhou (30th), Zhoushan (32nd), Quzhou (47th) and Lishui (59th).

Ningbo has made impressive strides in expanding its talent pool in recent years, with 105,000 college students seeking employment or starting their own businesses in the city in the first seven months of 2022, representing a year-on-year increase of 17.5 percent. Of these students, over 27 percent held master's degrees or above.
