Garbage sorting has become a low-carbon habit in Huzhou, East China's Zhejiang province, due to the city's promotion efforts over the past 13 years.

Huzhou has developed an effective solution for household garbage treatment, creating a green and low-carbon development path marked by healthy ecology, strong industries, and high living standards.

The counties and districts in Huzhou have all adopted various facilities for the diversified disposal and utilization of household garbage. Currently, the city has a daily disposal capacity of 7,600 metric tons, achieving a remarkable 100-percent resource utilization rate and an impressive 65.9-percent recycling rate.

To ensure streamlined garbage sorting processes, Huzhou established a one-stop intelligent supervision platform for household garbage, with data shared across other government and relevant enterprise platforms.

Bank of Huzhou also provided green financial products for enterprises and individuals committed to garbage sorting, which helped advance the garbage sorting industry.

In Nanxun district, robots are used for garbage sorting, increasing the resource utilization rate and harmless treatment rate of garbage. Huzhou has enhanced management assessments and announced numerous work plans and regulations that encourage residents and enterprises to engage in garbage sorting across various fields.
