HSBC BWF World Tour Finals 2023 to kick off in Hangzhou

The HSBC Badminton World Federation (BWF) World Tour Finals 2023 will kick off in two weeks' time in Hangzhou, East China's Zhejiang province, according to a press conference held at the Hangzhou Olympic Sports Centre Gymnasium on Nov 28.
Selvaamresh Supramaniam, deputy tournament director of BWF, announced the 63 athletes who have qualified for the BWF World Tour Finals at the press conference.
Among them are Viktor Axelsen from Denmark, An Se Young from Republic of Korea, and 10 players from China, including Chen Yufei, who just clinched the women's singles title at the BWF China Masters 2023 on Nov 26.
The event and ticket information were also announced at the conference. The competition will start on Dec 13. Tickets for all events at all prices went on sale on the Damai website and Damai APP on Nov 28.
The BWF World Tour Finals will be held in Hangzhou every year from 2023 to 2026, the press conference revealed.
The total prize money for this year's competition has increased to $2.5 million, the most ever for the BWF year-end finals, offering one of the largest cash prizes among badminton tournaments in recent years.
