The Jiaxing Aviation Hub Office announced that its infrastructure initiative, Accelerating the Construction of Jiaxing Global Aviation Logistics Hub and Building it the Yangtze River Delta Air Transport Center, was recognized as an excellent model of regional transportation integration development in the YRD.

The Jiaxing Global Aviation Logistics Hub project, with a total land area of 7,781 mu (518.73 hectares) and a total investment of 15.2 billion yuan ($2.11 billion), involves Jiaxing Airport's main structure, freight transport, supporting facilities, and the aviation logistics of YTO Express, a major parcel delivery company in China.

The project aims to help Jiaxing become a key central city in the YRD urban agglomeration by promoting the construction of the Jiaxing Global Aviation Logistics Hub.

The construction site is bustling with activity, as the terminal building, elevated bridges, terminal area roads, underground comprehensive pipe galleries, and other sub-projects are concurrently under construction.

The Jiaxing Airport is located about 10 kilometers from the Jiaxing downtown area, with convenient access to Shanghai, Suzhou, Hangzhou, Ningbo and other major cities in the YRD.

The airport is designed as a passenger feeder airport and a professional aviation cargo hub, with a passenger throughput of 4 million passengers and a cargo and mail throughput of 1.23 million metric tons in 2035.
