With over 30 years of experience in the special motor industry, Shi Wenmei, a deputy to the National People's Congress and director of the Research and Development Center at Huzhou Taiping Micro Special Motor Co, is dedicated to tackling technical challenges.
Last year, she led her team to complete the development of over 150 new products. "Many projects are still underway, with many already in mass production, mainly in the fields of aviation, aerospace, navigation, and deep-sea exploration," Shi said.
Through her work and research, Shi has found that many enterprises are struggling to attract skilled workers despite high demand, while vocational school students are struggling to find jobs.
As an adjunct instructor at the Zhejiang University of Water Resources and Electric Power in Nanxun district, Zhejiang's Huzhou city, she saw that vocational schools lack materials and equipment, resulting in poor practical skills among students. Collaboration between enterprises and schools presents an effective solution to this issue.
At this year's national "two sessions", Shi Wenmei plans to propose coordinating the development of vocational education systems across regions, so as to promote close ties between regional industries and professional colleges, and encourage enterprises in various industries to participate fully in all aspects of education and teaching. This includes establishing a batch of modern industrial colleges and forming a multi-party collaborative talent training model.
