In Ningbo, Zhejiang province, a group of senior models is captivating audiences with their charm and style. Despite their age, they challenge conventional notions of beauty and aging.

Thirty years ago, then-48-year-old Mao Xingsu retired from the Ningbo Surgical Instrument Factory. To fill her newfound free time, she discovered a passion for fashion through a local interest group at the Ningbo Senior University. As the group evolved and formal modeling classes were introduced, Mao embraced the opportunity for personal growth and embarked on a journey of self-discovery.

Mao's flair for fashion made her a standout on the runway. She eventually became a mentor, sharing her knowledge and expertise with other seniors interested in modeling.

Mao has stepped back from the limelight, but her passion for fashion remains undiminished. She continues to inspire and support her students, ensuring that the legacy of elegance and grace lives on.

Similarly, 72-year-old Zhong has also cultivated a deep appreciation for fashion. Her extensive wardrobe reflects her love for elegance and timeless style.

After retiring, Zhong pursued her passion for modeling by enrolling in a modeling class at the Haishu Senior University. Her dedication and talent quickly earned her recognition, and she soon transitioned from student to instructor. Zhong's innovative approach to fashion, particularly her use of eco-friendly materials, has garnered attention and admiration from her peers and students.

"In one's life, it's essential to prioritize happiness and self-expression," Zhong said.
