Chinese climber claims bronze at IFSC Boulder World Cup

Shaoxing Keqiao Yangshan Climbing Center hosted the 2024 International Federation of Sport Climbing Boulder World Cup from April 8 to 10, attracting 136 athletes from 33 countries.

In the women's finals on April 9, athletes tackled four routes within four minutes each, aiming for maximum climbs with minimal attempts.

Slovenia's Janja Garnbret clinched gold, Italy's Camila Moroni secured silver, and China's Luo Zhilu, entering the finals from fifth place, secured bronze.

Luo expressed satisfaction with her performance, marking a return to the podium after a year. She credited changes in her training regimen for her improved confidence and success.

She said the bronze medal not only signifies a personal achievement but also boosts her confidence for the Olympic qualification event in Shanghai in May.

Keqiao Yangshan Climbing Center, which witnessed six gold medals at the Hangzhou Asian Games in 2023, was the only venue to receive an architectural feature award from the Games' organizers. It is also the world's first fully equipped and permanent climbing competition venue.
