The preparatory meeting for the 20th China International Cartoon & Animation Festival was held in Hangzhou, capital of East China's Zhejiang province, on May 13.

This year's festival is scheduled to take place from May 29 to June 2 in Hangzhou and will feature over 20 activities, including exhibitions, business exchanges, competitions, and talent training sessions, according to the preparatory committee.

The main venue will be located at the Hangzhou White Horse Lake International Exhibition Center, with additional sub-venues in Hangzhou's Shangcheng district, Xiaoshan district, and Lin'an district.

According to the festival's preparatory committee, as of now, renowned animation enterprises, festivals, institutions, and industry professionals from 50 countries and regions, including the Korea Creative Content Agency and the Russian Animation Film Association, have confirmed their participation.

This year's festival will showcase the development and achievements of the China International Cartoon & Animation Festival, as well as the highlights and progress made in the animation industry in Hangzhou and China as a whole over the past twenty years, said the committee.

The festival will also highlight the latest advancements in AI-powered high-quality development of the animation industry, it added.
