The Wenzhou International Rehabilitation Conference was held in Taishun county, Wenzhou, on Sept 27. A series of university-enterprise cooperation projects and result transformation agreements were signed during the event.

The conference touches on various fields, including smart rehabilitation, educational rehabilitation, rehabilitation research, industrial transformation, hot spring rehabilitation, rehabilitation therapy, and neurological rehabilitation.

Academicians and experts from both domestic and international rehabilitation fields focused on new theories, the application of new technologies, and advancements in rehabilitation medicine, sharing the latest global technologies and experiences.

According to research published in The Lancet, China has the largest rehabilitation demand worldwide, with the rehabilitation medical services market growing at a compound annual growth rate of 27.1 percent. By 2025, the market size is expected to exceed 200 billion yuan ($28.53 billion).

In recent years, Wenzhou has been working to enhance the development of smart healthcare and new smart health services, providing full life-cycle medical and health services.

At the conference, Taishun signed a cooperation agreement with the Tengchong Hengyi Mineral Resources Industry Co.

In recent years, Tengchong in Yunnan province has sustainably developed its geothermal resources to establish the nation's first hot spring medical rehabilitation center. It has transitioned from hot spring tourism to health and medical rehabilitation.
