Quzhou's GDP grows 6.3 percent in first three quarters

The Quzhou statistics bureau announced the city's economic performance in the first three quarters of the year on Oct 24. The city's GDP reached 160.54 billion yuan ($22.54 billion), marking a 6.3 percent increase year-on-year.

Industrial production above designated size reported a 10 percent growth, reaching 47.61 billion yuan, while 22 out of 33 industrial categories experienced positive growth.

Key industries such as electrical machinery and equipment manufacturing surged by 59.7 percent, non-ferrous metal smelting and rolling increased by 26 percent, beverage and refined tea manufacturing grew by 23.4 percent, and textiles rose by 12.5 percent.

Retail sales of consumer goods totaled 70.82 billion yuan, a 6.2 percent year-on-year increase, with online retail proving particularly robust. Sales through public networks by enterprises above designated size surged by 57.1 percent, boosting their retail growth by 15.6 percentage points.

Urban residents' per capita disposable income increased to 49,352 yuan, up 4.8 percent, while that of rural residents rose to 27,729 yuan, growing by 5.7 percent. The income gap between urban and rural residents narrowed slightly, with the ratio decreasing to 1.780.
