The ultra-large container ship ONE Fu Ze, registered in Hong Kong, docked at the Dapukou container terminal in the Jintang port area of Ningbo Zhoushan Port on Oct 27. This marks the largest container ship to arrive at the Jingtang port area this year.
The vessel measures 366 meters long, 51 meters wide, and 30.2 meters deep, and with a gross tonnage exceeding 150,000 metric tons, it can carry up to 15,258 standard containers. This voyage departed from Shanghai and will transport 3,080 standard containers to ports including Kaohsiung in Taiwan.
So far this year, the Jintang port area has welcomed 145 ultra-large container ships, which is a 15 percent increase year-on-year.
With the opening of berths No 4 and No 5 at the Dapukou container terminal this year, its international ship docking rates have increased by 40 percent year-on-year, and container throughput has risen by 13 percent.
"We coordinated with the shipping agency ahead of time and assigned specialized officers to expedite border inspection procedures and provide on-site supervision," said Zhang Xiongyu, an officer at the Zhoushan entry-exit border inspection station.
This year, the Zhoushan entry-exit border inspection station has made ship clearance 10 percent more efficient.
