The Mutual Learning Among Civilizations with a Shared Future exhibition opened at the United Nations Headquarters in New York on June 9.
The event, organized by the Information Office of Zhejiang Provincial People's Government and the Xiling Seal Engraver's Society, highlights seal art as a cultural bridge between civilizations.
The exhibition traces the global history of seals through works inspired by the traditions of all 193 UN member states. Artists from the society created traditional Chinese seals that incorporate cultural symbols, natural wonders, and spiritual motifs unique to each nation.

With individual scrolls for each UN member state, printed albums, and more than 1,000 interactive items, the exhibition transforms seal art into a vivid, tangible record of global culture.
The opening was attended by both Chinese and international dignitaries, including Fu Cong, China's permanent representative to the UN, and Miguel Angel Moratinos, UN under‑secretary‑general and high representative for the Alliance of Civilizations.
The Xiling Seal Engraver's Society was founded in Hangzhou in 1904. Today, it stands as both a cultural institution and a tourist destination, preserving classical architecture as well as the enduring legacy of Chinese seal carving.
