A cross-border literary dialogue was held in Liandu district of Lishui, Zhejiang province, on Sept 25, bringing together writers and scholars from countries including Turkiye, Iran, Egypt, and Greece with their Chinese counterparts.

The event served as the concluding segment of the Beautiful China International Writing Plan, part of the 2025 China International Online Literature Week.

Before the dialogue, the guests embarked on a cultural tour that began on Sept 21. They visited sites such as the Yiwu International Trade Market, the She ethnic village in Liandu district, Guyanhuaxiang scenic area, and the Longquan celadon kiln ruins, which allowed them to witness firsthand the green transformation Zhejiang has undergone over the past two decades.

The dialogue focused on the theme "Cross-border Integration: The International Perspective of Literary Creation and Their Vision of a Beautiful China". A key discussion point centered on how to make Chinese stories resonate with global readers.

Bao Shu, a Chinese science fiction writer, said that stories rooted in genuine cultural foundations possess the power to transcend barriers.

According to Guan Pingchao, vice-chairman of the Zhejiang Provincial Writers Association, reflections shared by international writers will carry a sincere force, allowing the world to hear Chinese and Zhejiang stories with greater warmth and intellectual depth, ultimately inviting global readers to engage with China through reading, writing, and shared experiences.
