Shaoxing boosts holiday tourism with cultural experiences

The recent eight-day National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holiday witnessed robust growth in Shaoxing's cultural and tourism market.
From Oct 1 to 8, the city recorded 4.67 million visits, up 8.6 percent year-on-year, including 3.18 million overnight stays, up 9.4 percent.
Activities themed around Mid-Autumn Festival, featuring drone shows and performances themed on the Song Dynasty (960-1279), attracted over 1.55 million participants.
Several attractions set new visitor records. The former residence of celebrated writer Lu Xun received 238,000 visits, while the ancient town of Anchang attracted 273,000 visits for its classic water-town scenery.
Hotels also enhanced their appeal by offering cultural activities, including yellow rice wine tasting and calligraphy sessions.
