Top tennis players compete in Huzhou Tennis Open 2025

The Huzhou Tennis Open 2025 began on Oct 14 at the Huzhou Tennis Center in Huzhou, East China's Zhejiang province, attracting nearly 200 professional players from 22 countries and regions.

Sanctioned by the International Tennis Federation and hosted by the Chinese Tennis Association, the tournament offers a total prize pool of $60,000, featuring men's and women's singles and doubles competitions.

The event boasts a strong lineup, with notable players such as Hina Inoue from the United States and China's rising star Zheng Wushuang in the women's category. The men's draw includes top-ranked players like Ryan Peniston from the United Kingdom and Georgia's Saba Purtseladze.

The opening day featured the first round of the women's singles main draw, where players impressed the audience with their excellent skills. Hina Inoue, participating in Huzhou's competitions for the second time, praised the city's excellent facilities.

Local player Xu Ruoyu drew attention in the women's doubles. Having started playing tennis at a young age, she noted the increasing number and quality of tennis tournaments in Huzhou.

From Oct 15 to 18, key women's matches will determine the quarterfinalists and semifinalists. The men's singles qualifiers are scheduled for Oct 19 and 20, with the main events running from Oct 21 to 26.
