Jinhua's foreign trade demonstrates robust growth in first three quarters
The foreign trade sector in Jinhua, Zhejiang province, maintained robust growth in the first three quarters of this year, leading the province by contributing 50.5 percent to its overall export growth.
According to Jinhua Customs, the city's total import and export value reached 790.66 billion yuan ($110.99 billion), up 20.7 percent year-on-year and marking a new record. Exports hit 699.30 billion yuan, up 21.1 percent, while imports reached 91.36 billion yuan, growing 17.8 percent.
Exports to major markets all grew by over 10 percent, reflecting a more diversified market base. Notably, exports to Africa remained the largest, rising by 27.5 percent, while those to ASEAN saw the highest growth rate at 43.9 percent.
Exports of electromechanical and labor-intensive products increased by 21.2 percent and 22.0 percent, respectively. Among them, auto parts exports rose by 41.8 percent, while electric vehicle exports increased by 147.9 percent.
The number of foreign trade enterprises in Jinhua with actual import and export performance in the first three quarters reached 18,576, up by 2,029, reflecting strong business confidence. Additionally, the Zhejiang China-Europe freight train service handled 198,000 TEUs of goods, up 17.9 percent, continually supporting the Belt and Road Initiative.
Jinhua's import methods also diversified, with highway transport and cross-border e-commerce emerging as key highlights. Highway imports grew by 88.9 percent, while cross-border e-commerce, fueled by consumer goods, rose 26.4 percent and accounted for 23.7 percent of all imports.
