The delegation participated in the Mishima-Lishui Martial Arts Exchange Event, where both sides emphasized the role of sports in building international connections.

They demonstrated traditional Chinese martial arts techniques and group performances of 24-form tai chi. Participants also provided instruction to local martial arts enthusiasts, allowing Japanese practitioners to experience these disciplines firsthand.

The delegation visited local government and martial arts organizations, with both sides agreeing to martial arts exchanges. The itinerary included a visit to a karate dojo where members engaged with local practitioners.

Mishima and Lishui began friendly exchanges in 1992 and formally established their sister-city bond in 1997. They have maintained active engagements with frequent mutual visits over the years.

The two cities have achieved fruitful outcomes across multiple fields, including education and culture, making their partnership a model for Lishui's international sister-city exchanges.

This recent martial arts exchange has injected new vitality into the relationship, with both cities planning deeper cooperation in specialized fields and aiming to use cultural and sports exchanges to promote related industries.
