Zhejiang's youth surge lights up National Games arenas

Young athletes from Zhejiang province delivered a series of standout performances at the 15th National Games on Nov 16.
At Tianhe Gymnasium of Tianhe Sports Center in Guangzhou, Zhejiang claimed the men's under-18 volleyball title with a 3-0 victory over Jiangsu.
On the track, Zhejiang secured two golds and a bronze. In the men's 800 meters, Xi Xiaoheng surged down the final straight to win in 1 minute 45.48 seconds, breaking the national record. Hua Zihui took gold in the men's decathlon, earning Zhejiang its first National Games title in a men's all-around event, while Rao Xinyu captured bronze in the women's 800 meters.
At the Hong Kong Golf Club – Fanling Golf Course, 21-year-old Kuang Yang dominated over four rounds to win the men's golf title by four strokes, giving Zhejiang its first-ever National Games golf gold.
In Shenzhen, Zhejiang's U22 women's basketball team reached the National Games final for the first time at Shenzhen Bay Sports Center Gymnasium, ultimately taking silver after a loss to Sichuan.
In swimming, Xu Jiayu set a new national record in the men's 50-meter backstroke semifinal with a time of 24.36 seconds. On the cycling track, Jiang Yulu added a silver medal in the women's sprint, rounding out a strong day that highlighted the momentum of Zhejiang's next generation across multiple sports.
