A group of Chinese mergansers, first-class protected animals in China, has been spotted in Jiulong National Wetland Park in Liandu district of Lishui, Zhejiang province. This marks the 12th consecutive year these rare birds have chosen the wetland as their wintering ground.

The species requires a pristine habitat, with clear water, abundant fish, and a peaceful natural environment free from disturbance. Their continued return highlights the high quality of the local ecosystem.
