Zhejiang province reported a series of landmark achievements in advancing urban-rural integration and its common prosperity pilot program in 2025, according to a provincial meeting held in Jinhua on Dec 5.

Over the past year, the province delivered 10 flagship outcomes, including progress on the "county-central town-key village" development axis and reforms to integrate basic public services across urban and rural areas.

The development axis initiative, designed as a key channel for urban-rural integration, has seen 87 provincial-level axes launched across Zhejiang.

In Lishui, Longquan, a county-level city, the development axis strengthened industrial support centered on traditional sword-making and ceramics. Industrial value added from enterprises above designated size along the axis accounted for 82 percent of the region's total, while Lishui's gross domestic product growth ranked second in the province in the first three quarters.

Reforms to integrate basic public services focused on improving public satisfaction by removing barriers created by administrative boundaries, geographic divisions and departmental fragmentation.

In Dinghai district of Zhoushan, city-district coordination brought 112 basic public service items up to unified municipal standards. The district added 38 new education, healthcare and other public service facilities, raised integrated childcare and early education coverage to 75.8 percent, and increased the county-level medical treatment rate to 91.5 percent.

Zhejiang has also advanced the full-chain development of local specialty agricultural products.

In Jinhua, deeper integration of primary, secondary and tertiary industries has taken shape. A panda pig-themed highway service area developed during the year attracts an average of 50,000 visitors per day, boosting sales of Jinhua two-end black pigs and creating a high-traffic rural tourism brand. Total revenue at the associated Panda Pig Two End Black International Ranch has surpassed 350 million yuan.
