On July 31 last year, Pakistani businessman Ali Kamran received his business license, with his company becoming Yiwu's 10,000th foreign-funded business entity.
Arriving in Yiwu three years ago, Kamran is currently a PhD student at the International School of Medicine of Zhejiang University.
Frequent requests from overseas friends to purchase small commodities in Yiwu inspired him to launch his business venture, while Yiwu's fair and efficient business environment gave him the confidence to begin. He praised the city for its vibrancy and fair policies.
In 2025, he founded a trade service company and a foreign trade company. The former provides business consulting and registration services, while the latter exports Yiwu's affordable small commodities globally, with hardware products in high demand.
Meanwhile, his cosmetics brand has entered production and he has completed his doctoral thesis, achieving both academic and business success.
Kamran's entrepreneurship efforts are supported by Yiwu's vast market demand and optimal business environment. The registration commitment system for foreign-funded enterprises reduces registration time to just one day, and initiatives like the Foreign Citizen Card and foreign mediation teams provide a supportive living environment.
This year, Kamran plans to participate in exhibitions in seven countries, including Spain and the UAE, promoting his cosmetics brand and expanding his client base.
"If you have a dream, you should come to Yiwu," Kamran often advises his international friends. His story embodies Yiwu's embrace of the world through a market-oriented and international business environment.
