As Typhoon Haikui gradually moves away from Taizhou, East China's Zhejiang province, more than 3,000 fishing vessels set out on Sept 4 to resume fishing operations.

Given the presence of high winds and waves in the fishing grounds off the eastern coast of Fujian province and in the waters beyond, the fishing authorities have enacted a ban on fishing vessels from entering the area below 27 degrees north latitude. In order to prioritize safety, law enforcement officers from the fishing department have increased patrols, emphasizing the implementation of safety precautions for fishing vessels heading out to sea.

Despite the diminishing impact of Typhoon Haikui on the city, coastal areas in Taizhou are still experiencing significant waves as a result of the peripheral effects of the typhoon.

As of Sept 4, several maritime routes, including from Jiaojing to Dachen Island and from Yuhuan to Jishan Island, have temporarily suspended operations. Currently, 11 out of 22 maritime passenger routes in the city have been disrupted.

The Taizhou Maritime Bureau is closely monitoring weather conditions and ensuring strict control over vessel operations to ensure safe and orderly navigation.
