Global slackline contest kicks off in Shenxianju

Print PrintA global slackline contest began on Oct 28 at the Shenxianju Scenic Spot, drawing the participation of nearly 100 professional slackliners from around the world.
In the individual 150-meter speed race, eight Chinese slackliners competed against athletes from countries including Germany, France, and Brazil, with each competitor aiming to secure a place in the finals.
Adding to the excitement, the contest featured the world's first 4x150-meter relay race on Oct 29.
Alex, a seasoned German slackliner, shared his excitement about participating in the international slackline competition in Shenxianju for the third time. He noted that this year's competition has expanded to include four 200m tracks, making it a truly global event.
Tang Xuan, a passionate Chinese slackliner, expressed his enthusiasm for the sport. "Slacklining demands not only high-speed, but also finesse and bravery. It is a thrilling and exhilarating pursuit. Though it remains niche, more and more people are beginning to embrace it. Competing amidst the enchanting scenery of Shenxianju brings me immense joy, and I sincerely hope that a growing number of people will develop a passion for this sport."
Tourists also had opportunity to watch the slackline event on Oct 28 and 29. Additionally, from Oct 30 to 31, they can enjoy the beauty of Shenxianju Scenic Area while witnessing highline freestyle performances.
