Print PrintThe 2023 Global Forum on Hehe Culture was held in Tiantai county, Taizhou, East China's Zhejiang province, on Nov 7.
The forum attracted around 500 participants, including government officials and representatives from China, the United States, Japan, South Korea, Thailand, and Bulgaria, as well as over 20 ambassadors from more than 10 countries stationed in China. Additionally, experts, scholars from relevant think tanks, universities, and research institutions actively participated in the discussions.
Distinguished guests from various fields attended the forum and delivered impactful speeches. Among them were Zhang Xuewei, vice-chairman of the Zhejiang Provincial Political Consultative Conference; Yukio Hatoyama, former prime minister of Japan and chairman of the East Asia Community Research Institute; Du Zhanyuan, director of the Chinese National Administration for Foreign Affairs; Irina Bokova, former director-general of UNESCO; Li Xikui, vice-president of the China People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries; Xu Shaogang, dean of Studies at the Chinese Academy of Culture; Hussam Husseini, Jordan's Ambassador to China, and Li Yueqi, Party Chief of Taizhou.
With Hehe culture as its theme, the forum sought to advocate the core values of peace, unity, and cooperation and pave the way for a new era of civilized collaboration between nations worldwide.
