XGM Co Ltd, based in Sanmen, a county-level city in Taizhou, Zhejiang province, has recently achieved AEO advanced certification, becoming the latest recipient of this distinction in the region.

As a national high-tech enterprise specializing in the design, research and development, production, and sales of automotive shock absorbers and electronically controlled suspension, XGM has established itself as a key player in its industry. The company's products are in high demand globally, with exports reaching over 150 countries and regions. In 2023, the company's foreign trade exports surpassed 700 million yuan ($97.57 million), showcasing its robust international presence.

Jiang Mulin, president of XGM, emphasized that China Customs has inked AEO mutual recognition agreements with 52 countries and regions globally. This certification serves as a significant advantage for export-focused companies like XGM, enhancing their reputation and expanding sales overseas, as holders are entitled to benefit from over 20 customs clearance facilitation measures.

AEO, an acronym for "authorized economic operator", was established by the World Customs Organization to fortify international supply chain security and bolster global trade efficiency. The system cultivates partnerships between customs departments across different regions, thereby reducing customs barriers, such as inspection and clearance procedures, for local companies that possess the AEO certification. This streamlined process significantly reduces port, insurance, and logistics costs for companies, ultimately enhancing their competitiveness in the global market.

In 2023, the cumulative import and export volume of 28 AEO enterprises in Taizhou reached 41.12 billion yuan, marking an 18.4 percent year-on-year increase and accounting for 16.2 percent of the city's total foreign trade value.
