The 137th China Import and Export Fair, also known as the Canton Fair, began in Guangzhou on April 15, boasting 74,000 booths across 55 display areas, and is welcoming international buyers from over 220 countries and regions.

Taizhou in Zhejiang province is seeing record-breaking participation from 816 local companies at the fair — which runs to May 5 — occupying 2,119 booths to engage with global clients.

The Ministry of Commerce reported that nearly 170,000 overseas buyers had signed up for the fair by April 8, with 72 percent from countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative, 27.4 percent from BRICS nations, and 14.3 percent from Middle Eastern countries.

Among the exhibitors, Zhejiang Aike Electric Co, a high-tech manufacturer of hand dryers from Taizhou, has unveiled a range of new products.

In recent years, the company has been exploring emerging markets through national and international expos, reducing the risk of reliance on a single market through a diversified and global customer base.

Zhejiang Valogin Technology Co will attend the second phase of the fair, where it will present over 400 sets of products. Marketing Manager Xiang Jianhua said that they have targeted products for the Central Asian and Middle Eastern markets.

Additionally, Zhejiang Hangbo Power Tools Co, which has already focused on the Asian and Middle Eastern markets, has brought over 10 new products this time compared with previous years.

Its electric hammers and pickaxes are highly favored in Thailand, Vietnam, and Russia, with some products holding up to a 60 percent market share there.
