A delegation of 37 foreign trade representatives from 20 Taizhou-based companies recently gathered at Taizhou Luqiao Airport in Taizhou, East China's Zhejiang province.
They plan to fly to Jakarta, capital of Indonesia, for the 9th China Indonesia Export Brand Joint Expo that is taking place from June 4 to 7.
They will join 34 other Taizhou enterprises already in Indonesia, aiming to explore new business opportunities there.
The delegation includes seasoned exporters and first-time overseas exhibitors, all sharing the same mission — to expand into the Indonesian market.
Among them, manufacturer Taizhou Xinpu Tools plans to exhibit its hydraulic and electric tools, responding to Indonesia's strong demand in these sectors.
"We've focused on domestic sales, but Indonesia's growing consumer market makes it a strategic overseas target," said Chen Pu, general manager of the company.
Meanwhile, Yu Chunlai, sales director of Wandin Motor, expressed his confidence in the growth opportunities there despite it being the company's debut in Indonesia.
Organized by the Taizhou municipal bureau of commerce, the expo is part of the city's broader strategy to extend its international engagements. It also marks the largest industrial supply chain expo held in Indonesia under the framework of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership trade agreement which China and Indonesia are a party to.
This year, Taizhou has arranged for its participation in 123 major exhibitions, with over half focused on emerging markets. These efforts are already said to be yielding results, with many companies returning to the Jakarta expo after previous outings.
