The table tennis events of the fifth Zhejiang Provincial Sports Congress concluded in Wenling, a county-level city in Taizhou, East China's Zhejiang province, on June 22.

During three days of intense table tennis, nearly 500 players competed in various team and individual categories, creating a festive atmosphere filled with cheers and fast-paced action.

The tournament featured men's and women's team competitions for age groups of 18 to 35, and from 36 to 60, along with mixed singles in the open division, divided into rating groups ranging from 1,600 to 2,100 and above.

Notably, 10-year-old Chen Shihan from Wenzhou, Zhejiang, impressed the crowd by holding his own against adult players. His calm demeanor and sharp reflexes earned applause and admiration from spectators.

Several champions emerged in the finals, including standout performances from Taizhou teams, and individual players like Che Shangyi, who overcame a previous loss to take the 1,700-point title.

In addition, the event went beyond competition. Paired with a street food market themed "Taste Wenling", the tournament invited visitors to sample local cuisine and culture.

Athletes also received free access to scenic sites around Wenling, blending sports and tourism into the experience.

For many participants like Chen Miyen from Yuhuan, a county-level city in Taizhou, the experience was more than a sporting event — it was an introduction to Wenling's warmth, food, and coastal charm.
