The parent-child sports carnival of the fifth Zhejiang Provincial Sports Congress began on July 19 at the Fantawild Wild Land theme park in Taizhou, East China's Zhejiang province, attracting 1,000 families from across the province.
This year's event introduced a new competition model, combining sports events with themed carnival activities. The carnival served as a key innovation unit, linking competitive games, parent-child interaction, and technology through a points-based format.
Participants tackled six specially designed challenges that took advantage of the park's dynamic setting. Highlights included technology-assisted ball games, precision target shooting, and timed toy car races. Families also enjoyed access to six major amusement rides, creating a seamless mix of sports and leisure throughout the entire park.
Beyond the competitions, the carnival featured an 11-hour entertainment lineup with live music, interactive performances, and a French-inspired dinner show. The evening culminated in a fireworks display titled Frozen Blue Tears, which lit up the sky during the awards ceremony, merging athletic achievement with nighttime spectacle.
Local cultural and tourism brands joined in, showing regional products and experiences during intermissions. The collaboration highlighted Taizhou's specialties while strengthening ties between sports and cultural tourism, driving consumer engagement within the event's framework.
