The 2025 Hehe Culture Forum was held in Tiantai county, Taizhou, East China's Zhejiang province, on Nov 1, bringing together scholars, cultural experts, and international guests to explore the relevance of Hehe culture — a regional philosophy rooted in harmony and integration — and its role in promoting dialogues among civilizations.
The forum emphasized harmony, inclusiveness, and mutual learning as essential values for fostering peaceful coexistence. Participants noted that Hehe philosophy offers insights into addressing global challenges and building cooperative relationships across cultures.
Delegates expressed that strengthening the study and communication of Hehe culture contributes to the broader understanding of human civilization.
During the event, the forum committee awarded the title of "Hehe Culture Ambassador" to former United Nations Under-Secretary-General Pino Arlacchi, recognizing his contributions to cross-cultural dialogue and cultural exchange. Global figures, including former Japanese Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama and former UNESCO Director-General Irina Bokova, also sent messages of support.
The forum released the International Communication Report on Hehe Culture, which found that awareness of Hehe principles is steadily growing worldwide, with increasing engagement from international audiences. A bilingual book regarding Hehe culture was also unveiled, featuring research by scholars from 14 countries on the cultural and philosophical significance of Hehe culture.
Launched in 2021, the Hehe Culture Forum has become an influential platform for cultural dialogue and cooperation between China and the world.
