Taizhou in East China's Zhejiang province presented a diverse mix of technology-driven cultural products at the 6th Yangtze River Delta International Cultural Industries Expo, held in Shanghai from Nov 20 to Nov 22.
Fifteen companies from the city brought more than 200 creative items combining technology, history, and modern design, drawing widespread attention from visitors.
Smart devices were among the most visited features at the Taizhou exhibition area. AI-powered glasses allowed users to view embroidery pieces while instantly accessing related history and techniques. The product, designed for scenarios such as livestreaming, museum tours, and park tours, gained wide interest for its deep learning functions. Several interactive robots also attracted crowds, including health-monitoring models and programmable robots capable of composing short poems or performing dance routines.
Traditional crafts were another major highlight. Crafts such as Taizhou embroidery and Xianju needle-pierced frame-free lanterns showcased how classic skills can be reinterpreted through modern design. Visitors were especially drawn to scarves, lantern-themed souvenirs, and creative paper models. Plush toys inspired by local food also helped introduce Taizhou cuisine to a wider audience.
The city's cultural tourism achievements were further recognized as two projects from Yuhuan and Jiaojiang were selected as regional cases in cultural-economic development. With expanding creative industries and new digital experiences, Taizhou continues to strengthen its presence in the Yangtze River Delta region.
