Taizhou in East China's Zhejiang province has anchored its economy in its industrial base, adopting a strategy to accelerate its transition to modern industrialization during the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25).

From January to November, the total industrial output of Taizhou's enterprises above the designated size increased by 7.2 percent, while investment in high-tech industries, manufacturing, and industrial technological transformation rose by 12.7 percent, 12.6 percent, and 22.8 percent, respectively.

The city has focused on digitalization and automation in traditional industries, propelling them toward high precision and innovation. For example, Zhejiang Xiantong has adopted intelligent robotic arms for the precise coating of frameless sealing strips, entering the new energy vehicle market. The company will launch a project valued at over 100 million yuan ($14 million) to upgrade its technology. Upon completion, it will be capable of producing 420,000 sets of sealing strips annually for mid- to high-end vehicles.

Taizhou has also strategically invested in emerging sectors such as the low-altitude economy and semiconductors, creating a robust ecosystem for future industries.
