Boasting an efficient government and a harmonious and stable society, Jiaxing ranked fourth in quality of business environment among 26 cities in the Yangtze River Delta (YRD) region. Moreover, it was shortlisted in the 2019 Top 10 governments in the YRD in terms of business environment. It will go ahead with deepening "At Most One Visit" administrative reform, promoting one-stop online services and citywide services, focusing on optimizing the four kinds of soft environment –government services, financial ecology, talent and innovation, security and the rule of law – to realize the city's goals of offering the fastest and most efficient governmental services in Zhejiang province.

Jiaxing is a national advanced city in law publicity and education, and has won the title of Safe City of Zhejiang province for 13 years in a row. It has also been recognized as a National Social Security Comprehensive Management Advanced City for three years straight, and won the highest national award for comprehensive management – the Chang'an Cup – becoming one of the safest cities in the YRD.
